Description
Pilogel contains Psyllium Powder as an active ingredient. When mixed with water, it forms an orange-flavoured drink that relieves constipation, regularizes bowel movements, and helps reduce cholesterol.
Composition & Active Ingredients
Each 5 gm powder contains Psyllium powder 3.5 gm and other excipients q.s.
Indications & Therapeutic Uses
Chronic Constipation, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Hemorrhoids or piles, and Hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol).
Dosage & Administration
Usual dose: 1 spoonful 1-3 times daily after meals with water. Adults & children over 12 years: 1 spoonful with water 2 times daily. Children 6 to 12 years: 1/2 to 1 spoonful 2 times daily. Drink immediately after mixing.
Drug Interaction
No significant drug interaction has been observed with other medicines.
Side Effects
Flatulence or no significant side effect has been observed at recommended doses.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with gastrointestinal tract obstruction or threatening obstruction of the bowel.
